New Zealand has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia

New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Winston Peters announced the strengthening of sanctions against Russian companies and support for the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine.

It is reported that Minister Peters made the corresponding statement on the eve of the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“Russia’s illegal invasion has brought three years of devastation to Ukraine’s population, environment, and infrastructure,” Peters emphasized.

Additional sanctions are expected to target 52 individuals and entities associated with Russia’s military-industrial complex, “its energy sector, North Korea’s support of Russia’s military efforts, and the forced relocation or re-education of Ukrainian children.”

New Zealand’s Foreign Minister also announced an additional contribution of $3 million to the Trust Fund for Ukraine assistance, recovery, reconstruction, and reform, managed by the World Bank.
