In Rivne, people blocked a Territorial Recruitment Center van due to forced mobilization

What the TRC says

"Today in the center of Rivne, a group of unknown citizens blocked a vehicle of the territorial recruitment and social support center, which was carrying out notification activities. This incident is a manifestation of a dangerous tendency that may have negative consequences for the country’s defense capability," the TRC noted.

The Rivne RTRC assured that its representatives act within the defined powers. The blocking of military transport and obstruction of the performance of official duties in the TRC were called unacceptable.

It is reported that during the incident, two citizens of mobilizable age, who did not have updated military registration documents and were wanted for evading mobilization, were detained.

Currently, they are in one of the RTRCs of Rivne region for document processing for dispatch to undergo basic general military training. According to the MMC’s conclusions, both detainees are fit for service and have no limitations, notes the Rivne RTRC.

"The defence of the country is a common cause for all citizens, and in this difficult time, it is important to maintain unity and act within the law. All circumstances of the incident will be thoroughly analyzed, and the relevant bodies will provide a legal assessment of the actions of the participants in the event," concluded the press service.

Police Reaction

The police reported that an investigation is being conducted into the scuffle.

According to law enforcement officers, today on one of the streets of Rivne, approximately 20 citizens went out onto the road and blocked military transport.

"It is currently established that the servicemen of the mobile notification group today identified two men of mobilizable age who had not updated their military registration data and were wanted. According to the MMC’s conclusions, both men are fit for service and have no limitations," the report says.

After the MMC, the men were being taken to the RTRC for military training. It was then that a scuffle occurred on the road, and patrol police officers were called. The police moved citizens off the road.

"After the minibus with the military and the men left the scene, the conflict was resolved. Several reports have been registered with the police regarding this event: an investigation is underway. Currently, there is no information about incident participants contacting the hospital," the press service noted.
