
In Sumy region, the prosecutor’s office began an investigation due to the massive attack by Russian drones on February 27: eight damaged houses, two people injured.
This was reported in the Telegram of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
"According to the investigation, on the evening of February 27, 2025, within an hour, the enemy struck with 5 drones in one of the residential neighborhoods of the city of Sumy. As a result of the occupiers’ attack, a 68-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized. An 18-year-old girl also sought medical help due to an acute reaction to stress. Eight apartment buildings were damaged," the statement said.
Prosecutors are currently documenting the consequences of the shelling in cooperation with other law enforcement officers.

Under the procedural guidance of the District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Sumy, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the commission of war crimes (part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Sumy District Police Department of the National Police of Sumy Region, the prosecutor’s office informed.
Police record the consequences of hits after the massive drone attack on the region. According to law enforcement officers, in Sumy region, 5 apartment buildings, 19 private homes were damaged, four civilians were injured. This was reported in the Telegram of the Sumy police.
"The Russian army does not cease to shell the territory of the region – civilians and civilian infrastructure are under fire again. Because of the attacks, damage was inflicted on 9 communities, including the city of Sumy. As a result of the night attack on the regional center, 2 people were injured. Four apartment buildings were damaged: windows were knocked out, balconies and facades of buildings were destroyed, and 1 car as well," the police reported.
Also, in other settlements of the region, in addition to UAV attacks, the enemy used aerial bombs and artillery. In total, 2 civilians were injured, 1 apartment building, 19 private houses, a car, and a garage were damaged.
Currently, police officers are documenting the consequences of the attack, conducting photo and video recording of the damages.
On this fact, criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes).
The police urge residents to be careful and immediately report any drone debris or other suspicious objects to 102.
