AF: Air Defence Forces shot down 103 out of 154 Russian drones over Ukraine
Russia launched a new air attack on Ukraine on the night of March 1: the enemy sent 154 drones to Ukrainian cities and villages. Air defence forces shot down 103 Russian drones in 12 regions of our country.
More than half a hundred UAVs were lost in the field. The results of the night battle were reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy army began the attack at 19:30 on February 28. In total, on the night of March 1, the enemy attacked 154 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of simulation drones from the directions of Russian cities Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defence Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 08:30, 103 Shahed-type strike UAVs and other types of drones were confirmed shot down in the regions of Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kherson, Odesa, and Mykolaiv. 51 enemy simulation UAVs were lost in location (without negative consequences)," the message stated.
The Air Forces added that as a result of the enemy attack, the regions of Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, and Kyiv suffered damage.
