
Russian military forces continue their offensive in the Kursk region, taking control of the settlements of Stara Sorochina, Nova Sorochina, and Mykolaivka.

These villages are located on the northern outskirts of the Ukrainian bridgehead, near the recently lost Pohrebka by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Additionally, Russian forces have expanded their insertion zone south of Sudzha by capturing the village of Kurylivka.
As previously reported, this section of the front is critically important since further Russian advancement could completely cut off the Ukrainian troop grouping in the Kursk region from supplies from Ukrainian territory.
Western media point to a real threat of encirclement, which could lead to the withdrawal of Ukrainian units from the region to avoid losses.
