Voice of America has suspended its operations

After Radio Free Europe, by decision of Trump, the Voice of America "goes silent" around the world.

According to Michael Abramowitz, the director of the Voice of America, this US government-funded media completely ceases its operations, and its entire staff is sent on "administrative leave".

"I am deeply saddened that for the first time in 83 years the legendary Voice of America is going silent. This morning I received information that practically the entire staff of the Voice of America – more than 1,300 journalists, producers, and supporting staff members – has been sent on administrative leave. And I am among them," reads Abramowitz’s statement.
