The 28th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the service of Shalayev, who is suspected of murdering activist Hanul

The 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign has officially confirmed that Senior Lieutenant Serhiy Shalayev, suspected of murdering Odesa activist Hanul, indeed served in this unit.

However, according to the information from the brigade, after being transferred to the unit in the summer of 2024, Shalayev spent almost the entire time undergoing treatment, and later submitted a report for unauthorized absence (UA).

Currently, the court continues to choose a preventive measure for him. The prosecution insists on detention without the possibility of posting bail.
