Officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Shalayev pleaded guilty to the murder of activist Hanul

Senior Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Shalayev confessed to the murder of Odesa activist Hanul during a court session.

This was reported by Ruslan Veremchuk, Deputy Head of the Odesa Specialized Defence Prosecution of the Southern Region.

Earlier, the court decided to detain Shalayev until May 12 without the right to post bail. The session was held behind closed doors, so the motives for the crime are still unknown.

It should be noted that Shalayev was detained in Odesa, and the 28th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that he served in their unit, but spent most of the time undergoing treatment and then left the unit.
