The customs officers in Chernivtsi detained a smuggling of bags worth half a million hryvnias

The customs officers of Chernivtsi prevented an attempt to illegally import a batch of branded bags into Ukraine. The violation was recorded yesterday, March 16, at the "Porubne-Siret" checkpoint.

A Ukrainian citizen, returning from Romania, chose the "green corridor" lane for customs clearance, which implies the absence of goods that require written declaration and taxation by customs duties.

However, during the inspection of the car, customs officers discovered 18 women’s bags from well-known brands hidden among personal belongings in a cardboard box. The estimated value of the goods is 468,000 UAH.

Regarding this fact, the customs officials drew up a protocol on violation of customs rules under Part 2 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The goods have been temporarily seized.
