U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he plans to hold talks with Vladimir Putin, aiming to assist the surrounded Ukrainian military personnel.

According to him, thanks to his intervention, the situation has not worsened yet, but it remains critical.

«Tomorrow, I am talking to President Putin of Russia to save some soldiers who are in serious trouble. They are effectively trapped. They are surrounded by Russian soldiers... They are surrounded by Russian soldiers, and I believe that if it weren’t for me, they would be dead already. I managed to make sure that they do nothing at this moment. But it is a bad situation in Russia, and it is a bad situation in Ukraine. What is happening in Ukraine is not good, but we will see if we can reach a peaceful agreement, a truce, and peace, and I think we can do this... The only reason I’m involved is because of Russia and Ukraine, but also many people, it’s humanity. I’m involved for the sake of humanity. A lot of people are being killed there, and we needed to get Ukraine to do the right thing. It was a tough situation. You got a little insight in the Oval Office. But I think now they are doing the right thing, and we are trying to reach a peaceful agreement. We want to achieve a ceasefire, and then a peaceful agreement», said the U.S. President.
