Zelenskyy expects a serious response from the US to the "hundreds of ’Shaheds’ every night"

This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in the evening  address of the head of state.

"It is impossible to ignore hundreds of ’Shaheds’ every night. We expect a reaction, a serious reaction. We are working towards a reaction. A strong reaction is extremely needed - first and foremost from America, Europe, and everyone in the world who relies on diplomacy. Russia can be forced to make peace only through coercion," the president noted.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the US proposal for an unconditional ceasefire has been on the table for too long without an adequate response from Russia. The president believes that a ceasefire would have already been achieved if pressure was exerted on Russia. In particular, he called for the introduction of sanctions against Russia.

"This speaks volumes. There could have already been a ceasefire if real pressure was applied to Russia. I want to thank those among our partners who understand this and who advance the necessary decisions. In particular, these are new sanction decisions," the president concluded.
