A member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, Volodymyr Luhanskyi, has been accused of embezzling state funds amounting to over half a million hryvnias.
In particular, he is charged with receiving illegal salary and pension bonuses.
The accusation concerns a 15% bonus that Luhanskyi arranged based on a "doctor of philosophy" diploma. The issue is that this diploma, issued by MAUP, is invalid because this educational institution does not have the rights to confer such a scientific degree. Despite this, since 2015, Luhanskyi has unlawfully received bonuses totaling 576,000 UAH.
The case is being investigated by the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and law enforcement officers continue to gather evidence to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
