An Odesa resident fled to Moldova and posted a video online
A resident of Odesa posted a video online showing how he illegally crossed the border into Moldova after receiving a draft notice for mobilization to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his escape, he spoke with a resident of a border village who gave him money for the journey.
The video by the Odesa resident is being actively circulated on social media.
In the footage uploaded by the draftee, it is shown how he arrived at one of the border villages in the Odesa region. The Ukrainian asked a local resident for a glass of water and offered him euros in exchange. The man fulfilled his request but insisted that the Ukrainian hide the money.
"Until you hide the money, I won’t give you water," said the local resident to the resident of Odesa.
Additionally, the local villager gave the Odesa resident some lei, as he didn’t have any Moldovan currency. As a result, the draft evader was able to cross the border and enter the neighboring country.
