In Bukovyna, a second cadet of the SBGS academy was found dead

On April 19, a 19-year-old cadet was found dead in Bukovyna. He was studying at the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the State Border Guard Service.

According to Yuliya Shevchenko, a spokeswoman for the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defence Sphere of the Western Region, preliminary information suggests that the young man, who was serving at the position of the Chernivtsi Border Detachment, fired a shot from his service weapon around 18:20.

"A crime scene investigation team is currently working on-site with forensic experts, conducting an examination of the location," said the representative of the relevant prosecutor’s office.

After the initial actions are completed, a decision will be made regarding the registration of criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with the note "suicide".

She added that the pre-trial investigation will be conducted by investigators from the district police department under the procedural supervision of the Chernivtsi Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defence Sphere of the Western Region.
