Denmark will provide 317 million Danish kroner (over 42 million euros) for artillery shells for Ukraine.
This is reported in a statement by the Ministry of Defence of Denmark.
As noted by the defence department, Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen will meet with his Estonian counterpart Hanno Pevkur.
They will, in particular, discuss further support for Ukraine and Denmark’s allocation of approximately 317 million Danish kroner for artillery shells to be purchased through Estonia.
"It is extremely important that Denmark and our close allies continue to support Ukraine’s fight for freedom. We must keep directing our assistance so that Ukrainians can withstand Russian aggression," Poulsen stated.
According to the Danish Ministry of Defence, Ukraine has a significant need for continuous supplies of artillery shells of various calibers.
As part of a new aid package, Denmark has decided to fund the transfer of various types of artillery shells to Ukraine through Estonia.
"Assistance to Ukraine must be provided in accordance with Ukraine’s specific requests and needs. It is good and important that Estonia is capable of delivering the desired types of shells to the Ukrainians," Poulsen added.
Both ministers will also discuss Estonia’s activities in strengthening Ukraine’s IT security under the IT coalition.
