The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) has appealed to governments, businesses, and civil society to refrain from participating in any events marking the Russian Victory Day and instead to proclaim May 9 as a day of Russian shame.
The corresponding statement has been published on the official UWC website.
"On May 9, the Ukrainian World Congress calls on the international community to counter Kremlin propaganda and acknowledge the truth: this is not a day of victory, but a day of shame. It is a disgraceful reminder that the Russian Federation, gripped by the ideology of ’rashism,’ has itself become the evil it once claimed to have overcome," the statement said.
The UWC also addressed the democratic countries of the world with the following demands:
"As long as even one Ukrainian remains under Russian occupation or one abducted Ukrainian child is in a Russian camp of forced indoctrination, the mission of justice remains unfinished. May 9 should no longer be used to spread lies — this day should become a day of world unification to stand against aggression, demand accountability, and protect the dignity of all free peoples," the UWC emphasized.
