In Kharkiv region, large-scale forest fires occurred due to Russian shelling

In the Kharkiv region, large forest fires have occurred in the forests of the Borova community, Izyum district, due to Russian shelling with multiple launch rocket systems.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service on Facebook.

«This morning, the enemy shelled the forest area of the Borova community, Izium district, with multiple launch rocket systems. As a result of the shelling, fires broke out in the territory of the Borova forestry on an area of over 2 hectares and in the territory of the Regional Landscape Park of the Chervonooskilskyi Nature Reserve on an area of over 5 hectares», - the message states.

A total of 34 rescuers and 9 units of SES equipment, as well as 2 units of forestry equipment, have been engaged to extinguish these fires.

Overall, the elimination of 11 fires is ongoing in the forestry territories of the Kharkiv region, five of which were caused by enemy shelling. Employees of the State Emergency Service, including pyrotechnic crews, as well as workers and equipment from the forestry enterprises, are working at the scene.
