The U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, called the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin an obstacle to achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine.

He said this during a broadcast on Fox News on May 6th.

Kellogg noted that Ukraine agreed to a 30-day comprehensive ceasefire. Meanwhile, Putin rejects this idea.

“I think, right now, our obstacle to progress [in peace negotiations] is the President of Russia, who does not agree [to the ceasefire],” said Kellogg.

He believes that the only person who can achieve peace in Ukraine is U.S. President Donald Trump, but “if Putin agrees.”

Kellogg also added that the parties are “close” to a possible truce, and Ukraine is currently in a “good position.”
