The border guards repelled an attempt by a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group to infiltrate the Sumy region
On May 6, the border guards of the Sumy detachment repelled an attempt by Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups to infiltrate.
This was reported on the air of "Suspilne Studio" by Ivan Shevtsov, the head of the press service of the 15th mobile border detachment "Steel Border".
"The border guards prevented the breakthrough of a reconnaissance and sabotage group into Ukrainian territory in one of the directions within the Sumy region. The group suffered losses and retreated towards the Russian Federation," said Shevtsov.
According to him, Russian military personnel continue to attempt to establish themselves on Ukrainian territory within the Kursk direction:
"The enemy constantly tries to infiltrate Ukrainian territory with small groups of 3 to 10 servicemen, using motorcycles, among other means. Defence forces are effectively safeguarding the territory within the Sumy region and preventing breakthroughs," noted the head of the press service.
