Russia carried out shelling of Zaporizhzhya: one person was killed, residential buildings were destroyed

Russian invaders, despite the "ceasefire" declared by the Kremlin until May 9, struck populated areas in Zaporizhzhya. As a result of drone attacks, a 63-year-old woman was killed in the village of Prymorske, and a 45-year-old man was injured in the village of Bilenke.

The death of the woman was reported in the evening of May 8 by the head of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration Ivan Fedorov. According to him, a Russian FPV drone attacked a car with two people in Prymorske in Vasylivskyi district of Zaporizhzhya region.

As a result of the attack, the passenger was killed, while the driver remained unharmed," Fedorov wrote on his Telegram channel.

Additionally, as reported by Fedorov on the morning of May 9, a 45-year-old man was injured in a drone attack by the invaders on the village of Bilenke. The victim received all necessary assistance.

A car was also damaged there.

According to the official, a hit by an enemy FPV drone was recorded in Malokaterynivka, Zaporizhzhya district. Fortunately, there were no damage and casualties there.

Criminal proceedings have been opened for the war crimes of the Russian Federation, as reported by the National Police.

On May 8, the invaders launched 150 attack drones and conducted 70 artillery shellings on cities and villages of Zaporizhzhya region – a total of 220 strikes on eight populated areas in Zaporizhzhya, Fedorov said.

Prymorske, Kamyanske, Hulyaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka were under attack from various types of drones.

The enemy launched artillery strikes on the territories of Kamyanske, Hulyaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka.

During the day, the police registered nine reports of destruction and damage to apartments, private houses, and non-residential buildings.

On the previous day, a 77-year-old woman and an 86-year-old man were evacuated from the frontline Lukyanivske in Vasylivskyi district.

Russia is not adhering to the pause in hostilities it announced itself and, as usual, is deceitfully claiming a ceasefire, noted Fedorov.

According to him, the invaders have set an anti-record this past week – more than 620 strikes per day in Zaporizhzhya region.

"From experience, we know that by announcing a ceasefire, Russians reinforce the supply of their units on the frontline. Therefore, real silence on the front line is out of the question – the enemy is capable only of manipulation and outright lies," said the head of the region.

The Zaporizhzhya police, in turn, urged residents to move to safer places.

"For evacuation, call the special line 102 – do not put yourself and your loved ones in danger," the message read.
