Norwegian Defence Minister Ture O. Sandvik confirmed that the delivery of the promised F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine will be completed by 2025.
He stated this in a comment to NRK.
The head of the Norwegian Ministry of Defence confirmed that Ukraine has received "some aircraft," and the rest are planned to be delivered by 2025.
"The transfer of Norwegian F-16s is on schedule, but for the operational security reasons of Ukraine and after dialogue with Ukraine, we do not wish to disclose how many Norwegian aircraft have been transferred," Sandvik added.
He reminded that in 2024 the Norwegian government also increased support for Ukrainian air defence by 1.3 billion Norwegian kroner.
"With this contribution, Norway helps to improve Ukraine’s air defence in cooperation with other participants of the Air Defence Coalition," the minister continued.
