Russian occupation forces have changed their offensive tactics in the southern directions of Ukraine. The spokesperson for the Defence Forces of the South, Vladyslav Voloshyn, reported that the Russians are sending small infantry groups to storm.
He explained that previously, in the Novopavlivka and Orikhove directions, Russian forces attempted to assault Ukrainian positions with several platoons or almost a battalion of infantry, as well as a significant amount of armored vehicles, but despite significant losses, they were not successful.
The spokesperson noted that during one of the assaults, the Russian army lost 150-200 soldiers and about 50 pieces of equipment.
According to him, small infantry groups are now attempting to break through in specific sections of the front. Voloshyn emphasized that before the assaults begin, the occupiers bombard the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ positions with artillery and drop guided aerial bombs on them to destroy all shelters and defensive structures. He adds that after the Russians destroy a position, assault groups try to penetrate and secure it using ATVs, buggies, or motorcycles.
"It can be noted that there is activity from the occupiers in certain directions where they have gathered a certain amount of forces and resources, and they will continue this activity," the spokesperson reported.
