The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, urgently changed the leadership of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems, which is engaged in battles in one of the most challenging directions — in the Pokrovsk area.

This was reported by the media, citing sources.

Instead of Lieutenant Colonel Bohdan Shevchuk (photo 2), who led the brigade, Colonel Oleksandr Sak (photo 1) — the former commander of the 53rd Brigade — was appointed.

The decision was made personally by the Commander-in-Chief, and not by Shevchuk’s direct superior — the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Vadym Sukharevskyi, although, according to sources, there were also tense relations between Sukharevskyi and Shevchuk.

The reason for the change in command was likely the complicated situation on the frontline section for which the brigade is responsible.
