A landslide in the Carpathians has halted trains: "Ukrzaliznytsia" is conducting urgent repairs

On May 22, train traffic was urgently halted on the popular Carpathian route between Yasynya and Vorokhta stations due to a landslide and subsidence of the railway track.

"Ukrzaliznytsia" reported that the incident occurred due to technical problems with the infrastructure.

Specifically, the departure of train No. 96 traveling on the Rakhiv — Kyiv route was delayed. For passenger safety, it crossed the damaged section at reduced speed under dispatcher control.

Specialists immediately conducted an inspection and began repair work. The company noted that the section requires major reinforcement, so full restoration of traffic may take up to three days.

All trains in the Rakhiv direction temporarily changed their final stations. Bus transfers to and from Yasynya, Kvasovo, and Rakhiv have been organized for passengers. Train No. 96 continued its journey with reserve carriages after passengers were transported by bus.

"Ukrzaliznytsia" urged passengers to stay updated and keep their tickets for transfers.
