
Two women were injured due to careless handling of an unknown explosive device in a village in the Kherson region on Saturday, and an 8-year-old child was killed, reported the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
"An explosion of an unknown object occurred in a private house in the village of Kalynivske, Beryslav district. Due to careless handling of ammunition by adults, an 8-year-old boy was killed," he wrote on Telegram.
Two women were also injured. The 36-year-old victim experienced an acute stress reaction. The 37-year-old woman sustained explosive and traumatic brain injuries, a concussion, as well as multiple shrapnel wounds to the arms, legs, neck, and chest.
They were taken to the hospital for medical assistance, noted the head of the regional military administration.
Two children suffered mine-explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds - an 8-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. They were taken to the hospital in moderate condition. A man born in 1989 was also hospitalized with a mine-explosive injury.
