On May 26, the last batch of F-16 fighter jets destined for Ukraine took off from the "Volkel" airbase in the Netherlands.
The aircraft will be delivered to Belgium, where they will undergo preparation for transfer.
The Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans stated that these fighter jets are critical for Ukraine’s defense against Russian air strikes. According to him, Ukrainian pilots mastered the F-16 in record time.
Overall, the Netherlands has handed over 24 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. They will also provide spare parts, ammunition, and fuel. The planes are already being used to intercept missiles and drones.
F-16s are also being provided to Ukraine by Denmark (19), Belgium (up to 30 by 2028), and Norway (6).
