The Ministry of Defence approved the operation of the "Anti-drone Pistol"

The Ministry of Defence has standardized and approved for operation a personal countermeasure against aerial drones called the "Anti-Drone Pistol."

The news was published on the page of the defence department.

The "Anti-Drone Pistol" is presented as a means of individual protection for military personnel against enemy FPV drones through electronic suppression of the drone control channel.

It is already available on the military marketplace, Brave1 Market, where it can be purchased for 85,000 hryvnias or using accumulated "eBalls," which can be earned by destroying enemy infantry and equipment.

According to the provided specifications, the device can create interference at frequencies of 700-1000 MHz with an output power of 50 watts. The claimed suppression range is 100 meters, and the continuous operation time is 60 minutes.

The device has compact dimensions, weighs slightly more than 1 kg, and is made in a monolithic form factor.

It should be noted that the specified electronic interference frequencies do not cover the entire range of FPV drone control frequencies. For example, Russian operators also actively use lower ranges of 290–340 MHz or higher 950–1100 MHz. Consequently, these drones will be immune to the action of the "Anti-Drone Pistol."

In parallel, the Ukrainian military is introducing net guns in the format of compact pistols as a means of self-defence and physical counteraction to kamikaze drones.

In particular, in March, during basic training of recruits, the military was shown a net gun from the Ukrainian company Ptashka Drones.

This tool shoots a net with a diameter of 3.5 m by 3.5 m at a distance of up to 30 meters. The maximum net deployment distance reaches 15 meters.

"Militarnyi" has published a report with the developers of this system, who discussed the features of their device and the nuances of its use.

Apart from the aforementioned FPV drones, significant losses on the battlefield are also caused by regular Chinese Mavic 3 drones, equipped with ordnance release systems. They operate at different frequencies and are poorly suited for interception with a net gun. The creation of an appropriate compact electronic warfare device could solve this problem for the military.
