The Armed Forces of Ukraine are undergoing reorganization to increase efficiency. This will allow for the creation of more battle-ready reserves for conducting counteroffensive and offensive operations.

This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, during a meeting with journalists.

"Last year, we began reorganizing the Armed Forces amidst combat operations and provided for the creation of army corps. The main goal of transitioning to a new organizational structure is to enhance the efficiency of our actions and reduce the burden on military command bodies," noted the Commander-in-Chief.

As Syrskyi explained, the reorganization plans include reducing the number of command entities directly subordinate to a specific body (army corps). Meanwhile, the level of OSHV remains, and the level of OTG is gradually being eliminated.

According to him, the first wave of army corps commands with support units has already completed combat coordination and assumed their areas of responsibility and corresponding troop sets. The next wave follows, and thus all corps will take their positions.

Syrskyi added that it is primarily about more efficient use of all available forces and resources, optimizing the distribution of artillery, and increasing the number of unmanned systems units.

"I hope such reorganization will allow us, primarily, to preserve personnel, that is, to more rationally use our servicemen who are directly performing combat tasks. Also — to create more battle-ready reserves to be able to conduct active counteroffensive and offensive actions," stated the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He also noted that corps commanders have selected their management teams and were allowed to choose deputies independently. This also led to the rejuvenation of the operational command staff of the army.

"Most of the corps commanders are former brigade commanders who distinguished themselves on the battlefield. Their deputies, chiefs of staff, as well. We hope such reorganization will provide new opportunities in terms of efficient use of units, application of combat experience, strengthening control over brigades, reducing our losses, and increasing the number of destroyed enemies," added Syrskyi.
