The new head of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Major Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign "Madyar", who rose from a volunteer to commander of the 414th separate brigade of strike unmanned aviation systems "Madyar’s Birds", has actively begun his duties in his new position, reported the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"The results of cooperation between commanders, more effective task execution, and control over their implementation are already noticeable," quoted Syrskyi.

According to him, the main task facing Brovdi is the more effective development of this branch of the Ukrainian military. He noted that the new commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces needs "to integrate advanced units that are part of the ’Drone Line’ into the Unmanned Systems Forces".

Syrskyi emphasized that "Madyar" has committed to ensuring that six to seven units of the Unmanned Systems Forces make it into the top ten most effective units that demonstrate the best results in destroying Russian occupiers with the help of drones. The Commander-in-Chief expressed confidence that Brovdi will cope with this task.

In early June, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed the commander of the 414th brigade, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, as the new head of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The previous head, Vadym Sukharevskyi, stated that he left the position due to disagreements with the leadership on the further development of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

As noted by Ukrainian Armed Forces officer and aerointelligence specialist Yuriy Kasyanov in the article "To Some It’s War, to Others It’s TikTok. On the Quality of State Decisions in Wartime," due to conflicts of interest in the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, when the Unmanned Systems Forces were headed by Vadym Sukharevskyi, there was no control over the use of drones even in the Ground Forces, let alone other types of forces. After the change of leadership in the Unmanned Systems Forces, sharp disagreements in the command will disappear, but this will not improve the situation.
