Ukraine will receive 600,000 drones: the Netherlands launches a large-scale defence initiative
The Netherlands signed contracts for the production of 600,000 Ukrainian drones as part of the "Drone Line" initiative, announced Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umyerov on Tuesday, June 24.
According to him, the ordered drones will be delivered to the Ukrainian Defence Forces in 2025. "These contracts are part of a new aid package from the Netherlands worth over 675 million euros. It also includes the supply of 100 additional radars for UAV detection and equipment for the evacuation of the wounded," the Ukrainian Defence Ministry quoted Umyerov as saying.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence reported that the delivery of detection radars should be completed by the end of the year. Additionally, the Netherlands will allocate 80 million euros for UAVs as part of the international "drone coalition." Previously, the country invested 20 million euros in this project.
