Budanov: The Russians tried to develop their own sea drones, but unsuccessfully

The head of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence, Kyrylo Budanov, reported that Russian invaders attempted to develop their own naval drones, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

In an interview with "Suspilne", he noted that enemy forces had already attempted to use experimental models of such weapons.

"The last time they tried to use their experimental models was at the beginning of June. They did not produce any results. The drones detonated before even reaching our territorial waters," Budanov said.

According to Ukrainian intelligence data, these drones were aimed at the city of Pivdenne (until 2024 — Yuzhne) in the Odesa region.
