Budanov: Russia has a political goal to advance 10 kilometers deep into the Dnipro region
The Russian army has been tasked with creating a buffer zone – to enter 10 km deep into the Dnipropetrovsk region.
This was revealed in an interview with Bloomberg by the head of the DIU of the MoD, Kyrylo Budanov.
"It is unrealistic for Russia to capture the entire Donetsk region by the end of the year. Russian troops have been given the political task to declare that they have entered the Dnipropetrovsk region, and they have been tasked with creating another buffer zone up to 10 kilometers deep," he said.
The news agency reminds that last month, the occupiers entered the northeastern part of the Sumy region with the aim of creating a buffer zone.
"They have achieved minor successes in the partially occupied Donetsk region in the east and in the southern part of Zaporizhzhya," the article adds.
