A petition has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers, proposing that a nationwide minute of silence be broadcast daily at 9:00 AM throughout Ukraine via loudspeakers, ending with the performance of the national anthem.

The authors of the initiative also propose fining those who publicly ignore this minute of silence, except for emergency services personnel.

According to the text of the petition, the moment of remembrance should begin with a brief address that reminds everyone of those who have died because of the war: "all who have fought, all military personnel and civilians, adults and children — everyone who could still be alive if Russia had not started this war." Following this, a metronome should sound, and then the national anthem of Ukraine.

The authors of the appeal are convinced that such a practice will contribute to forming a new culture of remembrance, unite society, and strengthen collective memory.

As of now, the petition has been signed by 472 people out of the required 25,000.
