Ukraine has started producing ammunition against FPV drones: the munitions are already at the front

Ukraine has begun producing special ammunition against FPV drones, which are already being supplied to the front.

This is reported by Forbes.

The new 5.56 mm caliber ammunition is suitable for standard NATO assault rifles, such as the CZ Bren and M4, which are widely used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Upon firing, the round breaks into several high-speed pellets, creating a shotgun effect. The effective range is up to 50 meters.

These rounds allow soldiers to respond more quickly to the appearance of an FPV drone by simply changing the magazine, without the need to carry a second weapon. According to Brave1, each soldier is planned to be issued at least one such magazine.

The emergence of this ammunition is particularly important in light of the appearance of Russian fiber-optic drones, which are not affected by electronic warfare "jammers".

It should be noted, however, that the primary firearm of the Ukrainian Armed Forces remains the Kalashnikov rifle, which cannot fire such ammunition.
