The Danish government has decided to provide Ukraine with satellite communication services through the European Defense Agency (EDA).
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Denmark.
As Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen noted, with this decision, Denmark is contributing to Ukraine’s space defense.
"The space sector increasingly requires attention in defense policy. In close cooperation with the European Defence Agency, Denmark is now contributing to strengthening Ukraine’s satellite communication in its defense against Russia. Space solutions have enormous potential that can help strengthen the defense of Ukraine, Denmark, and Europe," he said.
It is noted that within the framework of the project, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive access to special terminals for satellite communication.
"This will significantly enhance Ukraine’s ability to continue its fight for freedom against the illegal Russian invasion. The terminals will provide reliable and secure communication, which can be crucial for carrying out military operations. This decision was requested by Ukraine," the Ministry of Defence of Denmark reported.
The department clarified that EDA representatives expect that other EU countries will follow Denmark’s example and consider similar projects for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
