A prosecution employee was involved in a high-profile traffic accident in Kyiv. He hit a woman on the sidewalk and fled the scene of the accident.
This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
The accident occurred around 11:30 PM on Saturday, July 19, in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital. Prosecutor General Kravchenko released a video of the moment of the accident. According to him, the culprit initially fled the scene, but was later apprehended.
According to preliminary data, the woman hit by the official is alive.
The culprit of the accident is Andriy Molochnyi. He is a chief specialist in the prosecution department.
Kravchenko also stated that he is taking the case under his personal control and will represent the victim in court.
"I emphasize once again: membership in the prosecution authorities is not an indulgence but a responsibility. I am taking this case under control. And, as the Prosecutor General, I will represent the interests of the victim in court. Such behavior is a disgrace to the entire system. It must be severely punished. And I promise it will be," he wrote under the video.
