Russians are attempting to advance on the section between Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka, - Trehubov

This was reported on the air by the spokesperson of the "Khortytsia" operational-strategic troop grouping, Viktor Trehubov.

"The enemy identified Pokrovsk as one of its key targets last year, making significant efforts to reach it in the winter of this year. This ended very unsuccessfully for them, and in the summer during this campaign, they concentrated large forces - over 10,000 personnel and a significant amount of equipment, just to gain operational space between Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka, and from there to implement some active aggressive actions," Trehubov said.

The spokesperson added that the occupiers opposite Pokrovsk are attempting to advance from the eastern side of Myrnohrad, but there is pressure from other directions as well.

"Accordingly, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything to destroy as much of the enemy’s manpower as possible, deplete its numerous depots, and prevent further aggressive actions," Trehubov assured.

At the same time, he informed that in the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy is also trying to actively break through to the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region, but is encountering certain problems.

"They (the enemy - ed.) are meeting certain difficulties because what they planned to accomplish during, possibly, even the first weeks of summer, they failed to achieve, as they are still engaged in battles in the villages bordering the Dnipropetrovsk region, considering the administrative border," the spokesperson explained.
