This was stated by Member of the European Parliament Daniel Freund, who recently visited Ukraine as part of a delegation of MEPs, reports Politico.
According to Freund, Kyiv has been slowing down reforms necessary for joining the EU in recent months. "Now they have missed deadlines for the first time, so certain payments were not made as planned," he noted.
This refers to funds that were supposed to be received under the Ukraine Facility — a mechanism for financing Ukraine’s state budget from the EU amounting to €50 billion in the form of soft loans and grants.
