
As a result of a road accident, Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation Yaroslav Rushchyshyn has passed away. His death became known on July 24.
Rushchyshyn was a deputy from the "Holos" party, actively engaged in entrepreneurship, public activities, and cultural projects. He was one of the founders of the artistic association "Dzyga," which became an important cultural platform in Lviv. In 2019–2021, he headed the regional organization of "Holos" in Lviv region.
Together with Markiyan Ivashchyshyn, he produced famous musical bands, including "Mertvyi Piven," "Club of Tea Fans," "Dzyga Jazz Quartet," and also supported early projects of "Okean Elzy" and singer Ruslana.
In 2020, Rushchyshyn ran for the position of Lviv city mayor, finishing in 4th place. He was an honorary senator of the Ukrainian Catholic University and a co-founder of the Lviv Business School (LvBS).
His death was a great loss to the cultural, political, and educational community of Ukraine.
