The SSU conducted searches in the Lviv City Council: investigating possible misappropriation of funds for housing restoration after shelling

The Security Service conducted searches in the administrative buildings of the Lviv City Council. According to media reports, the investigative actions are related to the investigation of the possible misappropriation of almost 2 million hryvnias allocated for the restoration of residential buildings damaged as a result of Russian attacks.

The case mentions the director of the municipal enterprise "Rembud" Oleh Polishchuk, the former acting head of the Frankivska District Administration Oksana Strumelyak, and the current head of the Halytskyi District Administration Halyna Hladyk.

The Lviv City Council has already confirmed that an investigation is underway but denied the allegations of misappropriation of funds, particularly during the procurement of windows for a building on Stryiska Street that was damaged as a result of an RF missile strike in 2023.

Interestingly, the day before, the City Council appealed to the President and the Verkhovna Rada, calling for the protection of the independence of anti-corruption bodies and the restoration of their previous powers.
