7,000 servers have been deleted — new details of the hacker attack on Russia’s "Aeroflot".
"Thanks" to the hackers, "Aeroflot" lost 7,000 servers that hosted the entire company’s infrastructure: the client database and corporate services for organizing international and domestic flights.
Additionally, the hackers encrypted and deleted 165 virtual machines where over 20 TB of information was stored, including the flight history of "Aeroflot" clients.
Due to the attack, there were disruptions in the operation of the "Sheremetyevo", "Vnukovo", and "Krasnoyarsk" airports, as well as significant delays and cancellations of flights.
Who are these hackers? None of the intelligence agencies have claimed responsibility. Previously, many high-profile cyber operations were carried out by hackers connected with the SSU. We await new attacks.
There is complete chaos at the airports, the company’s digital infrastructure is destroyed, flights are completely canceled, the number of canceled flights is already approaching 100, and employees are cut off from all communication channels (they can’t even communicate).
