Zelenskyy signed the law on expanding the staff of the SSU
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Improvement of Certain Issues of the Security Service of Ukraine’s Activities and Increasing Its Effectiveness in Connection with Participation in Repelling and Containing Armed Aggression Against Ukraine."
This was reported with reference to the law card on the parliament’s website.
The document provides for an increase in the number of the Special Operations Center "A" to 10,000 people.
An increase in the overall number of SSU personnel is planned: in peacetime - from 27,000 to 37,000, in a special period (excluding the period of martial law) - from 31,000 to 41,000.
It is defined that instead of the Anti-Terrorism Special Operations Center, a Special Operations Center "A" will be created to carry out operational-combat activities.
SSU servicemen are granted the right to use weapons and military equipment while performing tasks related to the country’s defence.
