The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is introducing an additional mechanism that will allow communities to restore housing damaged as a result of Russian attacks more quickly.
This was reported by Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko in Telegram following an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet on Saturday, August 2.
According to her, the Government decided to submit a draft order to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the dismissal of the head of the Mukachevo District State Administration, Serhiy Haidai.
"After another horrific shelling of Kyiv, the Government is launching an additional mechanism that allows communities to restore damaged housing — apartment buildings and dormitories — more quickly," said Svyrydenko.
According to her, "the procedure is simplified: the main stages can be carried out in parallel, and work can begin before the examination is completed. All actions are documented in the electronic system, and responsibility for deadlines and quality lies at the local level. Restoration will be funded from local budgets or international aid. The decision will also accelerate payments under the eRestoration program."
As Svyrydenko emphasized, the Government’s decision separately provides for the possibility of targeted payments from local budgets to families whose housing is damaged, compensation for expenses for temporary accommodation — until the repair is completed or new housing is obtained. Such payments may be funded from the local budget by community decision.
