British intelligence: Russian losses in the war against Ukraine have exceeded one million people

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, its personnel losses have reached approximately 1,050,000 dead and wounded, reports British intelligence in a report dated August 5.

According to analysts, in 2025 alone, about 260,000 Russian military personnel were killed due to the war. At the same time, since March 2025, there has been a gradual decrease in the rate of losses, and in July, Russia’s average daily losses amounted to 1,072 people — the lowest figure since April 2024, although still high.

Despite the reduction in losses, Russia continues intensive offensive actions along the entire front line. Analysts note that after declines in the first half of 2023, overall loss volumes began to rise again in 2024–2025.
