Budanov announced the arrival of a large number of volunteers from North Korea to Russia

The size of the Russian army will soon increase due to the arrival of many volunteers from the DPRK, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said on Ukrainian television.

According to Budanov, these will be genuine volunteers, of whom there are plenty in the DPRK, and not regular troops.

«So far, the increase has not yet happened. At the moment, unfortunately, we expect a significant increase in the number of DPRK citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation. Of this number, some will sign contracts, but it will no longer look like the DPRK sent military personnel, but rather as if citizens voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. This is exactly how it will be perceived», – noted the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

He also spoke about China’s desire to send volunteers to Ukraine.

«At a professional level, information about lists of Chinese citizens who are or have been participating here has been disseminated, and information has been exchanged. These citizens continue their participation. They need combat experience, and this is understandable, just as in the case of the DPRK. This was one of the main reasons – the lack of real experience. Now they are gaining this experience», – explained Budanov.
