The Defence Forces have assessed the likelihood of a landing operation in Kherson

Russian forces are aiming to land in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson to recapture the city. However, the Defence Forces have called this scenario unlikely.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Southern Defence Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, as reported by Ukrinform.

In his opinion, claims about a potential landing of enemy paratroopers in the "Korabel" microdistrict are unlikely from a military perspective. Before reaching this area, Russian forces would need to cross several water channels and islands.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian army is actively detecting and destroying any enemy assault or crossing groups.

"To reach our shore, the enemy needs time. And we use that time to detect and destroy the enemy while they are still approaching," he noted.

Regarding the possibility of an airborne assault, Voloshyn remarked that enemy helicopters would be immediately detected and destroyed. He recalled how a similar attempt ended for the Russians in Hostomel at the beginning of the full-scale hostilities.

At the same time, the spokesperson acknowledged that the situation in the area remains tense. Over the past day, Russian forces conducted 280 attacks with kamikaze drones, carried out 9 airstrikes with guided aerial bombs (GABs) on Kherson, and used combat drones such as "Molniya," "Lancet," and "Pryvit-82."

Combat clashes also continued on the islands in the Dnipro Delta, particularly on Bilohrudivskyi and Velykyi Vilkhovyi islands. Active fighting is taking place near the Antonivka bridges as well.

As Voloshyn emphasized, the enemy is striking Kherson, including the "Korabel" microdistrict, with artillery and guided aerial bombs, while enemy drones are constantly operating.

For this reason, following the shelling of the Ostrovskyi road bridge by enemy forces, local authorities are evacuating the remaining civilian population from the "Korabel" microdistrict.
