In Pryluky, law enforcement officers detained two individuals involved in drug trafficking

Employees of the criminal police, together with investigators from the Pryluky District Police Department, under the procedural leadership of the Pryluky District Prosecutor’s Office, documented several cases of drug trafficking. Two local residents, aged 50 and 51, were involved in the illegal activities.

Both offenders were detained by police and placed in a temporary detention facility.

This was reported by the Communications Department of the Chernihiv Region Police.

Preliminarily, operatives established that the men were systematically engaged in the distribution of plant-based narcotics.

During the pretrial investigation, police documented instances of cannabis sales. During sanctioned searches of the suspects’ residences, law enforcement officers discovered narcotics and other evidential materials of criminal activity, which were sent for expert examination.

The offenders were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They are currently held in a temporary detention facility.

Investigators from the Pryluky District Police Department, under the procedural leadership of the Pryluky District Prosecutor’s Office, continue the pretrial investigation in criminal proceedings under Article 307, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (which defines liability, in particular, for the distribution of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and their analogues).

The offenders face a penalty of up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
