Germany will provide 500 million dollars for the supply of American weapons to Ukraine
Germany will allocate funding for a U.S. weapons package for Ukraine worth $500 million as part of the NATO PURL initiative.
This is reported by The Guardian.
Germany has announced that it will fund a third major package of military equipment and ammunition for Ukraine under the new NATO program.
The Netherlands and a group of Scandinavian countries - Denmark, Norway, Sweden - have already pledged to finance the first two packages, each valued at approximately $500 million as well.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte welcomed this move.
"I highly appreciate that Germany has once again stepped up its actions. This delivery will help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression," he noted.
Rutte added that Germany is the largest European donor of military assistance to Ukraine, and today’s announcement further underscores its commitment to helping the Ukrainian people defend their freedom and sovereignty.
