In Kryvyi Rih, a group of teenagers opened fire with an air pistol in broad daylight on August 16. The minors were shooting at street animals and birds.

Residents are calling for those who endangered the lives of defenseless animals for entertainment to be found and punished. Details are reported by local media.

According to journalists, the outrageous incident occurred on August 16 in the 95th quarter. Five boys took turns shooting at birds and animals with an air pistol. They did this in a crowded place in the middle of a crowd of passersby. The presence of numerous witnesses did not bother the minors in the slightest.

"Kryvyi Rih residents are raising the alarm and calling on law enforcement agencies to pay attention to the incident that occurred. They also ask the police to find and punish those who threaten the lives of defenseless animals," the material states.

Journalists also reminded that in Ukraine, cruelty to animals is subject to liability.

In particular, administrative liability is imposed for cruelty to animals that caused them physical pain or suffering but did not result in bodily harm, mutilation, or death, as well as for abandoning animals, and other violations of the rules for keeping, handling, or transporting animals.

Liability for such actions includes the imposition of a fine ranging from 3,400 UAH to 5,100 UAH with the confiscation of the animal if keeping it with the owner poses a threat to its life or health.
