Ukraine has started serial production of the long-range cruise missile "Flamingo" with a range of 3000 km.
This was reported by Associated Press photojournalist Efrem Lukatsky.
The photograph was taken on August 14.
"The Ukrainian-made ’Flamingo’ missiles with a range of over 3000 km, launched into serial production, were recorded in a workshop of one of the country’s leading defence companies, Fire Point, in a secret location in Ukraine on Thursday, August 14, 2025," he wrote.
"Militarny" reported that the missile has an elongated cylindrical body, with the jet engine nacelle and its air intake located in the aft part of the fuselage at the top. The missile’s rectangular wing is located approximately in the central part of the fuselage (mid-wing). The tail unit is X-shaped.
Launch is carried out from a ground-based launcher in the form of a trailer, on which a guide is mounted for the free passage of the rocket booster.
The "Flamingo" missile was immediately compared online to the FP-5 cruise missile project from Milanion.
The publication also provided the characteristics of the FP-5 project:
Operating range: up to 3000 kilometers
Flight altitude: up to 5 kilometers
Payload: up to 1000 kilograms
Maximum flight time: 4 hours
Maximum speed: 950 km/h
Cruising speed: 850-900 km/h.
The FP-5 cruise missile has a maximum takeoff weight of 6000 kg and a wingspan of 6000 mm. It is controlled using a protected GPS/GNSS CRPA system and an INS system.
